Arriving in Trier
By airplane - by train - by car
Please note that the shuttle bus line we intended to use has been
reduced, as far as the days of arrival to STACS
are concerned, to the point of being plainly unusable. Departure
from the STACS conference, however, still can make use of this
For arrival, we're afraid that we have to refer you to
the taxi stand at the airport Luxembourg. Transfer to the Ramada Hotel
in Trier should cost approximately DM 100-120 per car.
For departure via shuttle bus, please note that we need
to book a place for you the evening (5 p.m.) before latest.
The (approximate) departure times are:

Arriving at Trier Hbf (Trier central station / Trèves
gare centrale) with a valid railway ticket entitles you to one free trip
with the bus. In order to go to the conference hotel, use:
(Quick orientation: When looking from the railway station, the bus should
go from right to left.)
- Between 4:45 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. (normal bus lines):
- Line 3, direction WEISMARK or FEYEN,

- Between 6:45 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.
(evening / weekend bus lines):
- Line 82, direction MARIAHOF, or
- line 83, direction WEISMARK or FEYEN,
- both leaving (with the exact bus stop being unspecified; buses line
up on the middle lane in the order they arrive) every 10-30 minutes
depending on the exact time.
Present your railway ticket to the bus driver, and leave the bus about
eight minutes later at the bus stops RATHAUS or
SÜDALLEE (sometimes called SÜDALLEE/KAISERSTRASSE;
all buses stop at both bus stops).
From bus stop Rathaus (slightly farther away, but the street
to cross is less busy), cross the street, turn to the right, turn left at
the traffic lights, and after approx. 100 more meters, the Ramada Hotel is
at your left.
From bus stop Südallee, you should be able to see the
Ramada Hotel on the other side of the street.
We recommend that you follow the signs leading to the
Europahalle, which is back-to-back with the Ramada Hotel.
To our best knowledge, all such signs will lead you
to the crossing of the Hindenburgstraße and the
Südallee/Kaiserstraße before pointing inside Trier's
"belt of boulevards"; please see the map on the
conference hotel page for where to go from there.
